GEALAN-acrylcolor® is a Gealan technology in which the colour of the PVC profile comes from a 0.5 mm layer of acrylic glass bonded to the profile during extrusion. This colour does not peel or fade in the sun, and minor scratches can be polished out. Komsta manufactures windows and doors from Gealan profiles in this technology, including metallic shades such as gold.
Gealan introduced GEALAN-acrylcolor® technology to the market in 1980. The color is provided by a layer of PMMA, or acrylic glass, which is fused with a standard white PVC profile during the co-extrusion process. Foils and GEALAN-acrylcolor® are two different ways of adding color to a PVC profile. Decorative foil is attached to the profile using an adhesive layer. In GEALAN-acrylcolor® technology, the colored acrylic layer is created together with the profile: the PVC and PMMA are fused in the extruder nozzle, without the use of glue.
Komsta offers both finishes. Foils provide options such as wood-effect decors, while GEALAN-acrylcolor® offers a uniform RAL color or a metallic shade. Both can also be combined in a single window. PMMA is one of the hardest materials that can be extruded and is significantly harder than PVC. This is why the GEALAN-acrylcolor® surface is ideal for the exterior side of a window, where it is exposed to sun, wind, rain, cold, and temperature fluctuations.

The acrylic layer protects the window color from the sun, weather, and damage, from installation through decades of use.

The GEALAN-acrylcolor® profile is created through a co-extrusion process, in which two liquid materials are combined in a single tool:
Gealan also uses tri-extrusion, which involves extruding three raw materials at once: a recycled plastic core, PVC, and colored PMMA on the visible outer surfaces. Windows made from GEALAN-acrylcolor® profiles are fully recyclable.
Komsta manufactures windows and doors from ready-made profiles using a modern machine park, drawing on over 30 years of experience in window and door production. Gealan systems also allow us to create windows in custom shapes and large sizes.

A veneer is a decorative foil attached to a PVC profile with an adhesive layer; it provides finishes such as wood-look decors. With GEALAN-acrylcolor®, the colored acrylic glass layer is fused with the PVC during the extrusion process, without the use of glue, and is 0.5 mm thick, which is why minor scratches can be polished out. Both finishes can be combined: acrylcolor on the outside and veneer on the inside.
Yes. Komsta offers windows and doors with a GEALAN-acrylcolor® surface in metallic shades, including gold. Gealan has six such shades in its palette, and a consultant will confirm the availability of your chosen shade for a specific model during the quoting process, or you can check it in the WH-Okna estimation software.
The acrylic layer is 0.5 mm thick, so minor scratches can be polished out to restore the surface to its original appearance.
Gealan selects pigments with the lowest possible UV radiation absorption, which is why heat absorption from the sun into the profile is limited, even with the darkest colors.
The acrylic layer covers the visible exterior surfaces of the profile. On the inside, the profile remains white or is finished with a decorative foil, such as the wood-look RealWood® veneer: in this case, the window has a durable acrylic color on the outside and a finish matched to the interior on the inside. In the version with a dark core, dark foils are used on the interior. A consultant will confirm the availability of interior veneers for your chosen model during the quoting process, or you can check it in the WH-Okna estimation software.
Yes. RAL 7016, DB 703, and RAL 9005 colors can be combined with a grey profile core instead of a white one, and the interior of the profile can be finished with one of six dark decorative foils. The window is then dark throughout, creating a cohesive look with a modern facade. Gealan offers this option in systems such as S 9000 and S 8000; Komsta manufactures the Gealan Comfort window using the S8000 profile. A consultant will confirm the availability of the grey core for your chosen model during the quoting process, or you can check it in the WH-Okna estimation software.
It is available in Gealan Comfort, Gealan Estima Light, and Gealan S9000 NL windows, Gealan Comfort Doors and Gealan Comfort Terrace Doors, as well as Gealan HST lift-and-slide doors. A Komsta advisor will confirm the available colors for your chosen model during the quoting process, or you can check them in the WH-Okna estimation software.
The profiles undergo laboratory tests, known as xenon tests, which simulate the effects of sunlight and atmospheric conditions, as well as real-world testing on the French Riviera, in Florida, Arizona, and Australia. The requirements for these tests exceed DIN standards, and the surface quality is confirmed by, among others, the German RAL certification. According to Gealan, after 10 years of outdoor exposure, the acrylic surface is significantly smoother than that of a traditional PVC profile and shows virtually no signs of wear.
